![]() ![]() I just don’t believe that they were expecting the amount of failures that they are seeing. Of course there were going to be hiccups along the way and people were going to fail everyone knew that. More like Bad…get it?!? I heard rumors about the failure rates of soldiers and I am not shocked. Results are rolling in and they ain’t looking good. Also, if choosing that song offends you it might get worse. If anyone knows what the other movements being considered were please let me know. I know that is not how it was created, but it’d be pretty fucking cool if it was. Smashing bananas to his face and doing his usual 6-minute ab routine of hanging core exercises when someone saw a YouTube video of what turned out to be the Leg Tuck. How great would it be if they researched the strongest/fittest animals in the world? And they were trying to come up with movements based on their feats of strength/fitness? Imagine a young, vibrant, chiseled Harambe in his home state of Texas, before moving to Cincy. “(I Just) Died in Your Arms “- Cutting Crew First I got to head down another rabbit hole, I’ll be right back. Then after a Colonel told a long-winded story about watching his grandkids on the monkey bars, the Leg Tuck was born. ![]() And then this person was tazed for it being “too easy” and dragged from the room as well. I like to picture this suggestion coming while MPs are dragging the lifeless body of the person who suggested pull-ups out of the room. I imagine when they were in the meeting deciding what to include/exclude someone said, “What about a chin over the bar hold for time?”. Hence why I still haven’t come across someone who can do a Leg Tuck without being able to do a pull-up. I put compromise in quotations because, just based on doing some Leg Tucks, you still need a decent amount of upper body strength. ![]() Then after some time a “compromise” was reached. And the brave soul that suggested it was probably shot on site (I mean verbally shot on site, but maybe also phyiscally shot on site too). I’d bet all my money that they wanted Pull-Ups included, or at least one person did. Now, I have a few theories on how the Leg Tuck came to be in the ACFT. I hope were alone now, because someone will probably get mad for what I’m about to say. Going to keep rolling with the Top 100 Songs of 1987 throughout so feel free to click on the song title if you need a little break. But musical metaphors aside, I’m here to help you with the Army’s ACFT Leg Tuck. After looking at the lyrics, it seemed only fitting to help describe all those soldiers who are out there on their own without any help when it comes to training for the ACFT. To be honest I have wrote and scrapped 4 variations of this blog so far, so “Here I go again.” I said that to myself when I opened up my computer this 3 rd time and thought, “Isn’t that a song?” Hence, where the 2-hour rabbit hole came in. Now you’re probably wondering why I chose to reference a White Snake song for this Blog in the first sentence. Welp it happened and this is where we are now. Funny how a google search turns into falling down a 2-hour rabbit hole of the Top 100 songs of 1987. So make up your mind, and stop wasting all your time. You’re not a drifter that was born to walk alone. You don’t have to keep goin’ down the only road you’ve ever known. Stop walking the lonely streets of dreams. You don’t have to keep searchin’ for an answer and never seeming to find what you’re lookin’ for. Now it’s on death row waiting to get lethal injected in a few months for the ACFT to come. Just a couple of simple movements that you could do anywhere. Back then times were easy, the APFT was alive and well and it didn’t take much to train for it. It’s not 1987 and White Snake is no longer on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 chart at #7 with their hit “Here I Go Again”. ![]()

![]() ![]() Though the BOD Rope took several days to get used to (including having the end fly off because it wasn’t screwed on fully), it turned out to be shockingly satisfying to get the hang of the movements. Speaking of fun workouts, the cordless jump rope is featured in almost every episode, and is a hoppin’ good time! Even when I was in a sour mood, my spirits were lifted by the bouncy movement and the mental gymnastics of trying not to smack myself in the bicep with those whirling balls. For example, I’ve never before done workouts with such high rep volume (versus slow, heavy lifting), and I found them exhilarating! 3. I’ve done a lot of exercises in my life, but #mbf program still felt exciting and fresh because of the innovative ways it combines familiar moves with new versions. More musical Beachbody programs, please! 2. Not only does this get you jazzed to work out, but it also keeps you on track with the beat, so you don’t always need to stare at the screen to know which rep comes when. The music is perfectly timed to get you pumped right before a set, then match the pace of the reps, and to come to a crescendo for a clear finish to each block. Now, to be clear, all the music is original and non-famous, but it has some serious similarities to certain Beyonce and Jay-Z songs, so you may find yourself almost singing along to a tune before you realize that it’s just a knockoff - hehe. What immediately catapults #mbf to the top of the “Best Beachbody Workout Programs” list is that it’s one of the few to be set to music - and wow, is that music ever fun and motivating! My results from #mbf were… muscular! What I Loved About #mbf Beachbody 1. If you’re just starting out with BOD, I actually think #mbf is a perfect first program to try, as long as you have a foundational base of fitness already. Overall, I really enjoyed #mbf Beachbody and would highly recommended it to everyone, from advanced beginner to strong athlete, with some caveats. On to the review! Is the #mbf Workout Good? This article contains some affiliate links (ex: the jump ropes in the “equipment” section), which means that if you choose to buy through them, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. I also founded and run an 800-person fitness motivation group in Boston, because helping people embrace the joy of healthy bodies is my thing! I truly did every single minute of every single workout in #mbf, including the bonus workouts.īefore getting on the at-home workout boat, I was a Division I college high jumper, meaning I have a solid base of exercise knowledge, and can speak from hard-earned experience about injury prevention by modifications. I am merely a muscular middle school English teacher and mother of two who finds that exercise is a mighty good way to manage stress (and, um… there’s been a lot of stress lately). Now let’s hop to it! So many fast squats in #mbf! Why Should You Trust This Review? Subscribe if you want monthly email alerts of my newest reviews as they come. Why? This two-section structure is similar to Beachbody’s other two-part program, “ 21 Day Fix” and “21DF Extreme,” and the two halves are different enough that they also merit separate write-ups. This review will focus on #mbf only, with a separate review of “Muscle Burns Fat Advanced” #mbfa here (which contains photos of my end results from the two programs together). After some math, we see that the entire program is therefore actually 6 weeks, when you add #mbf and #mbfa together. In fact, #mbf is supposed to be followed immediately by #mbfa “Muscle Burns Fat ADVANCED,” which is an additional three weeks of slightly longer (closer to 40 minute) workouts which build on the first three weeks in terms of difficulty. Is #mbfa “Muscle Burns Fat Advanced” Different? Finally, it features a cast that is all working out at home via Zoom. Another unique characteristic of #mbf is that it features weightlifting in high-volume reps that alternate between asymmetric and symmetric moves. This gives a playful, bouncy feel to the whole shebang. The key gimmick of the #mbf program (and I use the word “gimmick” with love) is that it heavily incorporates a cordless jump rope. ![]() ![]() ![]() What are the Different Types of Shipt Orders? Upper fret access isn’t an issue, it’s just not as easy as on the Juno. Though I’m sure the different, less-exaggerated lower horn cut contributed to that. Perhaps it was just the way the larger body sits. Personally, this guitar didn’t feel quite as fast up and down the neck as their Juno model, though I’m not sure there is any spec’d difference. The C-shaped neck is welcoming and the 25″ scale length sits comfortably between Fender and Gibson, much like a PRS. The locking tuners have been consistently great across all three Harmony guitars that I have reviewed here. I found the fret work, action, and tuning stability all well above average on this Jupiter. Chords ring out clear and there is a decent amount of sustain, though not nearly as much as your typical archtop-LP style guitar. When played clean, the Jupiter easily jumps between U2-like arpeggios and Beatles-style jangle. Layers of fuzz only make the Jupiter more fun, and this is a guitar I’d love to take on stage if I was a player who relied on fuzzed out tones often. Harmony’s Jupiter has that distinct garage rock sound, and could easily find its way into the hands of the next alt-rock guitar hero. The Jupiter pushed my Vox AC15 into a nice crunch, though nothing as crazy as a PAF-style humbucker would. I love the gold foil humbuckers, they’re clear, snappy, and sound great with overdrive. The good news? Harmony’s Jupiter sounds killer, just like the Rebel. I’m sure the most fine tuned ear could argue that the single cut away shape makes a difference. To be honest, the Jupiter has the same electronics as the Harmony Rebel and basically sounds the same. More locking tuners, dot inlays, and plenty of vintage vibes round out the premium features on this USA-made LP. Basically, it looks like a Tele bridge cut in half, giving it both a familiar and unique look. The Jupiter also features their half-bridge system, with adjustable saddles. The cupcake knobs, one for volume and one for tone, contrast the dark body finish nicely. Those same gold foil humbuckers are also loaded onto this equally simple electric guitar. A Mahogany neck and Ebony fretboard holds 22 medium-jumbo frets, a 25″ scale length, and C-shaped profile, just like their Rebel guitar. Like their other models, the Jupiter features a Mahogany body with a Nitro finish.
